The Pelican Nebula is located in the Cygnus (Swan) constellation about 2,000 light-years away. The Pelican is a large H II (ionized hydrogen) stellar nursery often associated with the North American nebula out of frame to the left.

Celestron 11 on a CGEM mount, Atik 460EX monochrome, Starizona HyperStar, Orion off axis guider, and Starlight Xpress Lodestar X2 autoguider for guiding.

Each pixel would hold 290 of our solar systems (Neptune's orbit diameter).
Software
Nebulosity for image capture, calibration, stacking, and preliminary processing. PHD2 for scope guiding. Final processing is with Photoshop CS5.1. Noiseware for noise reduction.
